While we don't have a mandate, experience has shown us very specific early indicators of success.
There's an expressed and difficult to solve problem, or your solution is at least 5x better than the existing alternative if your customers don't yet know they need it.
You have real visibility to attractive unit economics after accounting for S&M, and you have a realistic path to get there.
Software is quickly commoditizing. You're building hardware, own the customer and distribution channel, or have some other sustainable moat.
You own the distribution channel, understand the customer in a way others don't, or have another differentiated way to get your product in front of buyers.
